Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22
I love the book of James. If you ever need a pick me up – go with James. Its a short book and has a lot of good stuff in it. Don’t start with Deuteronomy… unless you like crazy laws. Anyway – this verse sums it up.
Churches are full of people who ear the word. Churches are not full of the ones doing what it says.
It makes the walk with Christ much easier when you do what it says.
I’m getting worn out. I must say. The devotional blogs are tiring for me. I don’t feel them anymore. I need some ideas. I still want to do something with the word each day, but I’m not sure what. My little devotions are just getting shorter and shorter. So, if you like the devotions, leave me some ideas in the comments, for stuff to keep doing.
Last night was… rough.
We put her down at about 10pm. I fell asleep at 10:30. At 11:15 she woke up. She didn’t go back to sleep until 2:30.
This is for the birds. (these cute little birds…)
I’m not sure who cried more… Lucy or me.
It wasn’t fun. So then when she did finally go to sleep, she slept til 6. Four straight hours wasn’t bad. Then she woke up ate, had an extremely messy diaper (she hadn’t pooped all day long… I looked it up, thats normal). She fell back asleep and didn’t wake up to eat again until 11:30. She slept 5 hours straight. SERIOUSLY?? Why couldn’t you do that last night at 10? Come on Kiddo!
I’ve had a busy day so far. My sister came down from Montgomery and we’ve been hanging out. I’m so glad she could come visit. I went to the school and met with the teacher who’s going to be teaching my classes. We seem to have a lot of the same style, so I think she is going to do great! I feel really good about it! We are both pretty organized. And we canceled Wesley’s insurance and I’ve got a new prescription for Lucy’s eye drops (I lost her other one.. this one is going to be put in a jar… or tied to a towel or something. I will not lose it too).
So now, my little sister and I are going to take Lucy to Hattiesburg to get her meds. We may do an ounce of shopping… who knows. 🙂
Again – post some ideas in the comments section for the devotionals!
