Talkin’

From Ruth Meyer’s 31 Days of Praise:

Thank You that in Your Word I can see Your face and hear Your voice. I can discover Your will and Your patterns for living and serving. I can develop deeper faith and confidence. Thank You that the Holy Spirit inspired Your Word and uses it to enlighten and guide me, and to change me more and more into Your image, from one degree of glory to another.

This prayer is pretty cool. Its taken from 2 Peter1:20-21 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It is truly amazing that the Word of God does allow us to get to know our God a little bit better. You know, that is the easiest way to get close to God, is to be in His word.

It’s so easy to talk to God as well. I do know people who struggle with that as well. That’s sad. God sent Jesus, Jesus died and rose again, and tore the veil. The veil is what kept us from speaking directly to God.

Helloooo! The veil was torn. We can talk to God now. Why wouldn’t we? He loves us. He isn’t holding a lightening bolt, waiting for your strike 3 (believe it or not… He’s not counting). He loves us and He wants us to talk to Him. If He didn’t, the veil would still be in place. Anything God really wants, will happen. You betcha.

Talk to God. That is what these prayers are for. Its for those of us who don’t have a way with words. Those of us who want to say all these perfect things, but stumble over our words. This is to help you with that. I certainly hope and pray that it does. It definitely helped me.

Talk to Him this morning. Read this prayer again. He’s listening.
