Devotional: 1 Peter 3 // Last weeks catchup

Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. 1 Peter 3:15 MSG

There are a couple of things that I see here that catch my eye. The first, is that we should always be ready to share the gospel.

If someone asks, especially. And doing so in a courteous way.

But the thing that stands out to me most, would be this: be ready to explain why you are living like you are, even if its not a good way of living.

I will never forget being in high school, walking down the hallway. I was changing classes. At the time, my church was the cool spot for the youth on Wednesday nights. We had lots of people, usually well over 50.

This day, a guy that was a couple of years older than me, who went to my youth group was in the hall talking to some of his friends. He was wearing one of the in style Christian t shirts, and when his buddy said something to him, he quickly shot him the bird.

The bell rang, classes began, and I was hurt.

I had the same shirt (different color).

I felt like the shirt meant something.

I felt like it was a way to help introduce Christ into conversation. But now? People see him doing that, wearing the same shirt I have, they will automatically assume I’m the same.

We go to the same church, wear the same clothes, we must act the same too.

This wasn’t the case. I tried hard to be what God wanted me to be. I didn’t cuss, I didn’t party, and when he did that, it ruined what I felt like I had going.

It wasn’t even that big of a deal, but it did reflect badly for me. So… The shirt that I had, was never worn again.

But if that’s you… If you are the one saying one thing with your mouth and your clothes, and then doing another… You will have to answer for that one day.

Maybe not to anyone here on earth, I never said a word to the guy who did that, but I wasn’t the only one watching.

God sees it, and I believe he will not let a witness go void. And when that guy did that little gesture, I believe that God can use him as an example of what NOT to do.

I do not want to be that example.

I’d much much rather be the example of how to live rather than how not to live.

Wouldn’t you?

Think about your actions. Think about those who see you. You will have to explain those actions and responses one day. Hopefully you’ll be able to share why you have the faith that you have, the love that you have, and not why people think you are a hypocrite.

Just something to ponder. You will answer for your actions.

Life Blog

Had a good week last week. Judah seems to be sleeping a little better. He’s giving me more 3 and 4 hour stretches rather than 2 1/2. It’s amazing how much better I feel when I’ve had sleep.

Ok, so I’ll give you what you all want 🙂 pictures!

Lucy found daddy’s riding glasses. She wore them, came up to me and said “wanna read a cupa books?”

What a cute lil nerd 🙂

Judah is still cute… Lil stinker.

Wes did so good for Valentines day.

It’s a hanger for our towels in our bathroom. I’m going today to get flowers to put in my little vase! So cute. Only problem… Makes my bathroom need to be kept clean ha!

Lucy gave Judah a hat.

Lucy played with stickers.

And she wore herself plain out a few days there.

The cutest bath of all time was taken…

And Judah looks cute in stripes.

And that’s about it. You are caught up! I was bad and forgot to take Judah’s 6month pictures. So, I’m going to do those as soon as I can this week. Oops! I did the same with Lucy at some point. It’ll be ok.

Ok- got stuff to do! Have a good day!
