Devotional: Psalm 139 // Catch up and Cute videos!

Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalms 139:24 NLT)

A lot of times we come to God with requests, pleas, urgencies.

We have situations that come up, requests that we ask. And that’s okay- our God loves us enough to hear us out on them.

But when that’s all we do… It becomes not enough.

We come to God with praises. We praise him for his creation, for his authority, and his presence in our lives. And this too is well and good and Much needed- all glory should go to him anyway… But it still isn’t enough.

It never will be. Nothing we can do will ever be worthy. Thank goodness for Jesus.

But just because we are totally incapable, doesn’t mean we don’t have a job to do.

We should still strive for better. Today you should be better than you were yesterday. Tomorrow, better than today.

Best way to achieve that? Talk to God about it. He knows more about you than you do.

He can show you the things you need to weed out of your life. He can also help you do the weeding- but he won’t weed it for you. That’s on you.

You have to make that decision and follow through.

Life Blog

Life’s been going. Non stop. Had kinda a rough patch the past few nights. Judah, is actually sleeping really well.

Lucy? Has wet her bed 4 nights in a row. One night twice!

I’m running outta sheets.

And I have no clue why.

Definitely frustrating.

Anyway… Onto fun stuff!

Lucy has also been living up to the “terrible twos” nick name.

Found her playing in baby powder…

It’s in her hair. It was everywhere.

Then I found a stuffed elephant covered in Vaseline. She’s constantly eating my Chapstick. It’s always something. I gotta get on Pinterest and find some toddler crafts or something.

Judah looks cute in a towel.

Who am I kidding?! He’s always cute!

We had some friends over for dinner and Judah got a little play date! Look how cute they are!

And Lucy is getting prettier by the day.

Saturday we went to the zoo. Lucy loved it!

We then came home and swam. It was nice to spend the day just us four.

Ok.. Finally the cutest videos I’ve done in a while…

Judah eating sweet potatoes:

He was doing that all on his own. He does it a lot. It makes him sorta hard to feed – but it’s quite adorable!

And Judah “crawling”:

Hey.. get it done how you have to little man.

Hope your day is FAB!

A Good Night and a Busy day

So, my spaghetti sauce was very tasty. We had meatball subs last night. Really good. I posted the recipe at the end of my post for you to try out if you like! Again, very tasty. And It made a LOT of spaghetti. You’ll have lots left over. Unless you are the Duggars.

So last night was alright. Had church. I had to lead worship with Kevin (he plays keyboard). We didn’t really realize that we were leading until it was about 10 minutes before church… so we kinda threw it together. Thank God that He showed up! Otherwise that would have been a big ole mess.

Lucy did well last night. She slept from 10pm until like 3:45. Not too shabby. It took me until about 11 to go to sleep; I had some stuff I had to get done. Just good ole housework.

Today I have nothing planned, so that basically means I have a lot to do at home. Right after school I’m going by a couple of places where I left Avon catalogs, to make sure no one has any orders, then I’m going to the gym to get my run on. Then we will go home to clean the house up some. We have finally gotten all our stuff from my brother in laws house that was ours. We used to live where he lives now. And so we don’t really have a place to put all this stuff… I hate to throw good stuff away… Oh well. I’d rather it be in the trash than junking up my house. Anyway…

I’m doing a new recipe tonight/today. I put it in the crock pot at lunch.

A rotisserie chicken. I have never cooked one ever in my whole life. It was pretty gross. And something fell out of its insides. I’m not sure if it was meat or… organs. Either way, I guess I’m okay with it not being in there. Who knows. This chicken might be a disaster. And then again, it might NOT be! If its good I’ll post that recipe too!

I’ve been trying to get all of my past Lucy pictures and videos posted to my FlickR account. You can click on the right over there and see them all. Here are a few of my favorites from the past few weeks:

And as promised – the Spaghetti Sauce and Meatballs recipes:

Spaghetti Sauce
Author/Source:
Constance Winkler in care of Tricia @ Onceamonthmom.com
Ingredients:
79 ounces canned tomatoes, diced
79 ounces tomato sauce
1 lbs ground beef
.5 lb ground sausage
(I just used 2 lbs of ground beef instead of sausage)
.75 cups onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced (and I used 2 teaspoons of garlic powder instead here)
1 Tablespoon Oregano
Directions:
Brown meat, garlic and onion together in a large stock pot. Add in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and oregano. Cook on low for 6 hours. Stirring occasionally.

For Meatballs:
Ingredients:
1 batch Down Home Spaghetti Sauce
1 lbs ground beef
.5 lb ground sausage (Again, I just used ground beef)
2 eggs
1 cups Italian Style Bread Crumbs
1 Tablespoons chopped basil
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together with clean hands. Make sure all ingredients are well incorporated. Scoop out a bit of mixture and roll in the palm of your hand until you have a rounded ball of meat, approximately 1 inch or less. Place on a foil lined cookie sheet. Repeat until you have used all of the meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes (yes, just 15 minutes, the will cook longer when you add them to the spaghetti sauce). Remove from oven and add them to the Down Home Spaghetti Sauce. Cook in sauce at least 3 hours or until they reach an internal temperature above 160 degrees. Remove from sauce with slotted spoon and serve. Serve with spaghetti sauce and noodles or on buns as a meatball sub.
